Arsenal young guns put in a brave display against West Brom and managed to hold on to win on penalties 4 3. Arsene Wenger put out a young side with a few expericed players with the likes of Mertersacker, Vermaelen, Monreal and Arteta all their to add steal the to starting eleven. It was Nicklas Bendtner first game for almost 2 years not playing for the Gunners.
It was wasn't a very pretty game put Arsenal struke first with Eisfeld in the 61st minute but 10 minutes later West Brom headeed a equaliser with Berahino scoring. It then came down to the penalty shoutout and Arsenal young guns held thier nerver to seal a 4 3 victory and go onto the next round to face Chelsea at home.

Arsene Wenger said after the game :
‘I’m very proud. We had many young players. They showed they are good players and can fight as well.
‘I also decided to go with the young players for the penalties and they coped well with the pressure.
‘It’s good because we know we can win when you think you’re dead. It was an important lesson.’
